RE: Rules For Madden 25
Are you suggesting ice was running up the score? If not, why should he be forced to punt due to the fact that he was winning? He only won by 1 score.

Also, Chad, you omitted the fact that you personally attempted more 4th downs than ice in that game.

I have no problem with what ice did (and I have seen similar done irl), though I do admit that I would personally choose to punt in that scenario.

I'm not suggesting ice was running up the score.

I'm suggesting that rules that allow for teams to go for 4th downs in their own territory when up by more than 1 score in the 4th quarter need to be changed.

As for the 4th downs I went for;

1st was a 4th and 4 at the 37yd line as I didn't want to attempt a long FG in the rain. Score was 14-0 at that point, Ice's lead. I failed the 4th down attempt.

2nd was a 4th and 2 at the 50yd line in the 2nd quarter when I was down 14-7. I failed the 4th down attempt.

3rd was a 4th and short at the very end of the game, which I converted.

RE: Rules For Madden 25
don't the new rules that pedge sent out mean that you shouldn't have gone for your 4th and 2 on the 50yd line in Q2?

Quote:
We have some new rules which we are going to implement for 4th downs
They are as follows, and have also been inserted into the rules thread for reference

- General play -
*Can go for it on 4th and 1 or less, any qtr regardless of score or field position.

-If down by 14 points or more-
*Anytime, regardless of qtr or field position.

- 4th and goal -
*Anytime unless up by 14 or more.

- 4th qtr -
* Anytime if losing by any margin or winning by 8 or less.

- 3rd qtr -
* Anytime inside last 2 minutes if losing by more 9+ points.

Thanks

So, to review;

Going for 4th and 2 at midfield when losing is banned.
Going for 4th and inches in your own territory when leading by 14 is totally fine.

RE: Rules For Madden 25
you should not be able to for 4th and 2 at midfield, down 7, in the 2nd. D should be rewarded

understand your frustration about 4th and inches up 14 at own 28. i would choose to punt here

maybe rule could be amended - must punt/fg if up 2+ scores all throughout game?

RE: Rules For Madden 25
Im sure everyone will find themselves in situations where the 4th down rules stuff them over, and only by a yard or 2. Hopefully its only a few times a season.

Chad take it on the chin and have some patience with the new rules. They have only been in place for less than a week, you have to give them some time.
